JOB PURPOSE:

To provide first class, professional administrative support to the Company’s external and internal customers and suppliers, ensuring that all parties are updated on a regular basis regarding the progression of sales orders. The role is also to provide a centre of excellence for purchasing, planning with the manufacture of aerospace machined components and assemblies. The role will provide co-ordination of multiple projects simultaneously to ensure that suppliers, price, delivery timescales and quality standards are achieved.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read engineering drawings desirable but not essential as training will be given.
  • Basic Engineering understanding would be an advantage.
  • Familiar with manufacturing processes, raw material specifications and costing methodologies.
  • AS9100 desirable but not essential.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Receive multiple job packs of engineering drawings and procure all parts associated with the bill of materials in a timely manner to meet production delivery targets.
  • Maintain and input customer order information accurately on to the MELOPS (Company Database) system.
  • Progress and chase sales orders accordingly.
  • Meet and attempt to exceed customer expectations regarding delivery times.
  • Liaise with the customer at all times regarding sales orders and advise of any delays immediately.
  • Complete pricing on tenders using approved suppliers.
  • Liaise effectively with Project Engineers on all relevant aspects of each project, manufacture and sourcing components for builds. Create bill of materials where none exists.
  • Liaise effectively with suppliers throughout each project, maintaining the MEL Group / AEC (Arrowsmith Engineering & Consultants) reputation for commitment and professionalism.
  • Produce reports on spend and forecast production capacity.
  • To identify opportunities for increased cost effectiveness.
  • Manage the sourcing and procurement of everyday tooling and consumables for a production department.
  • Plan, organise and accurately monitor workload to meet strict deadlines.
