GROUP QUALITY & COMPLIANCE ENGINEER

JOB PURPOSE:  

The role encompasses assisting the MEL Group of Companies in all aspects of compliance with Regulatory, Statutory and Legislative compliance across the Group.  

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Establishing compliance to Quality Management Systems
  • Utilise expertise in the area of global standards compliance. 
  • To analyse and provide input to program/project teams in the form of specific actions, tasks and plans related to compliance with applicable standards 
  • Share expertise and institutionalise learning to provide training to technical and management teams 
  • Develop and maintain company and project audit schedules within all MEL Group Companies
  • Conduct compliance audits and follow up, to ensure that compliance systems are in place and functioning
  • Raise corrective actions against noted deficiencies and recommendations for improvement as appropriate
  • Act as a focal point for product / process Quality Issues 
  • Assist with the development of company and project procedures, method statements and other Management Systems documentation
  • Provision of compliance input, to pre-qualification tenders
  • Lead and facilitate improvement activities 
  • Represent the Company both on-site and at customers / supplier sites when required
  • Maintenance and administration of the company databases for audits, warranty issues and non-conformance reports.
  • Delivery of necessary training and guidance on regulatory and technical issues
  • Attend regular meetings to review the Quality strategy across the Group and ensure there are plans in place to reduce risks within the business.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience of 3+ years in the area of compliance to standards
  • Holds a recognised Manufacturing or Production Engineering Qualification at HNC level or equivalent.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & CRITICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • An understanding of the legislative and compliance requirements specifically linked to aerospace
  • Familiarity of engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Proven experience of working within a quality management system
  • Experience in validation and risk management processes
  • Tenacious, enthusiastic, highly self-motivated and flexible
  • Have experience of Business improvement and Internal Audit techniques
  • Proven ability to make and meet commitments
  • Results oriented
  • Thrives on problem-solving and multi-tasking 
  • Possesses clear, concise and articulate interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
