Drop Tank Test Rig MC1282

The Drop Tank Test Rig is designed to test the Hawk 130 gallon drop tanks. It is used for 'off aircraft' testing. The rig consists of a main frame to support the rig and the drop tank when testing. The rig is capable of controlling the fuel flow rate from the fuel supply during testing.  Other features include an interface for an external air supply and an external fuel supply adaptor to enable fuel transfer from the drop tank during testing and a 28vdc electrical power lead. Capacitance measurement along with all electri- cal tests can be carried out during fuel testing. The rig allows pressure control and filtration of this air supply to simulate aircraft operating pressures and external tank maintenance pressures between 0 and 30psig.  The water filtration unit has an automated drain and filter life indicator.
